A total of 10 people - six children and four adults - were displaced overnight after flames ravaged the top floor of an apartment in the 2600 block of Douglass Road SE.

Two of the children had to be hospitalized for medical needs that were unrelated to the fire, according to officials. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
